Fine Art Photography by Frederick M. Stevens
There It Was!
This grouping of images was photographed along Route 66 between Winslow and Holbrook, Arizona in fall of 2008. These signs advertise an old curio shop and gas station which was a landmark on the Stevens family’s cross-country trip from California to Georgia in 1964. Small yellow signs with a rabbit silhouette and a mileage number began appearing along US 101 south of King City, California. They continued to appear along various highways, counting down to the location of this shop. Anticipation and speculation ended with some souvenirs and a lasting memory. ~φ~ Fred Stevens
